Red Cross installing 1,000 smoke alarms in Glens Falls for nationwide push

There's a big push to get something that can save lives installed in thousands of homes.

The Red Cross is hoping to install free smoke alarms in 10,000 homes across the United States.

Locally, they were working in Glens Falls on Thursday, where the goal was to install 1,000 free smoke alarms.

The Red Cross says fires in homes claim seven lives every day in the United States.
