Rensselaer County is taking new steps to try to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

Officials want anyone traveling to the county from Westchester County, New York City or Long Island to report to the health department.

Those individuals should self quarantine for two weeks.

Landlords are also now prohibited from renting or leasing to anyone from those areas until further notice.

There have been six confirmed cases of the virus in Rensselaer County that are New York City residents who relocated in the recent weeks.

As of Friday, the county has 45 confirmed cases of coronavirus.
