Most of the people arrested are facing felonies – and the charges include welfare fraud and grand larceny.

One Troy woman is accused of stealing more than $8,000.

Officials say welfare benefits are meant for those in need, to give them a boost to a better life – and not for those who abuse the system.

Investigators are still looking for another seven people who have been identified as targets.

The county executive said these sweeps are going to continue. Hear more of his reaction by watching the video of the story.
