A Facebook group started by Washington County's top cop is getting a lot of attention.

At last check, more than 54,000 people joined the group called "Repeal Bail Reform."

Sheriff Jeff Murphy started the group last week because he's concerned about the potential dangers of the state's controversial bail laws.

In the group, he's sharing stories of accused criminals who were let out of jail before their upcoming trial.

In the group's description, the sheriff listed phone numbers for the governor, Senate and Assembly members, imploring group members to make their voice heard.
