Report suggests permits for hiking High Peaks

You may someday need a permit or a reservation to hike the High Peaks of the Adirondacks.

That is one of the recommendations made by the Adirondack Council and the Leave no Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics. Their report found limiting visitors, along with education, and outreach are the best ways to ensure the Adirondacks will be available to future generations.
