Restitution dispute leads to plea deal trouble in Warren County

In Warren County, the man accused of stealing from the American Legion was set to plead guilty until he found out how much he'd have to pay back.

Leadership at the Lake George American Legion Post say Richard Gijanto stole $180,000 However, his lawyer believes restitution should be capped at $45,000. The lawyer says Gijanto can actually pay that during six years of probation.

The Warren County District Attorney’s office and the judge could not agree to a number. So, the plea deal fell apart and the case was adjourned.
