Albany police investigate robberies tied to Facebook

Albany police are investigating a pair of robberies tied to Facebook.

The first one happened last Friday in the 100 block of Second Street. A man went there to sell a phone to someone he met on Facebook. The buyer showed a knife and demanded the phone.

A similar crime happened on Garfield Place, Thursday night. When a man showed up to sell a phone, the buyer showed a gun and demanded cash.

Right now, officers are trying to determine if they're connected.
