Gansevoort man admits to child pornography charges

A Gansevoort man has admitted to possessing and distributing child pornography.

Robert Gibeault Jr., 50, now faces up to 20 years in prison.

Prosecutors say he used a file sharing program to distribute child porn between May and September 2017 - and hundreds of photos and videos were found on his computer.

Gibeault also faces up to a lifetime of supervised release and must register as a sex offender.

Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 11.
