Schuylerville bicyclist hit and killed in Brooklyn

NEW YORK CITY - A Schuylerville man is hit and killed by a car while riding a bike in Brooklyn.

The NYPD says 29-year-old Robert Sommer was hit around 8:20 Sunday evening while trying to cross in the area of East 33rd Street and Avenue U.

Sommer was knocked off his bike. He was pronounced dead at New York Community Hospital.

Police say the driver stopped. The accident remains under investigation.
