TROY - RPI has confirmed to NewsChannel 13’s Karen Tararache the school will temporarily suspend Greek Life rush, recruitment and intake for the fall 2018 semester.
The official announcement was made in an e-mail to the RPI community by Le Norman Strong, the head of the Greek Life Task Force.
He also says no alcohol will be allowed at any social events or in any of the chapter houses. He says it's in response to instances of alcohol and drug abuse, hazing, sexual misconduct and acts of racial discrimination and bigotry.
Strong says the Greek Life recruitment can resume in the spring 2019 semester if appropriate progress is made to enact a comprehensive culture change.
