June 26, 2018 11:25 PM

Four Saratoga County sheriff's deputies have been suspended without pay while the department investigates a bar fight in Saratoga Springs last weekend.

It allegedly happened this past Saturday at 3 a.m. at The Reserve on Caroline Street – a nightclub.

While the sheriff could not confirm that detail, he did confirm there is no criminal activity in this investigation.

The Times Union reports Saratoga Springs police intervened outside the nightclub and a minor scuffle ensued.

NewsChannel 13 reached out to the Saratoga Springs police chief to see if officers have any body cameras with footage. We haven't heard back yet.

Earlier in the day, deputies were at the Fairways of Halfmoon golf course for an annual golfing tournament put on by the Police Benevolent Association. About 150 guests attended the event, which had five hours of golf. While there was food, the alcohol would have to be purchased separately.

There is a rumor that a participant from the tournament had driven a cart off the course and into the woods. The owner of the golf course, Bruce Tanski, says that did not happen.

"We've had issues in the past with other different tournaments. I'm not going to go into detail, but these guys have been great and plus, I know all these guys. I mean, I see them around all the time and they have benefits and I contribute different things to them. They contribute to me. It's been a nice symbiotic relationship. They've always treated me with respect and I've always treated them with respect," explained Tanski.

NewsChannel 13 also reached out to the PBA president for comment. We have not heard back from him. We contacted the Mill Bar in Round Lake, because allegedly some of the deputies ended up going there after the tournament. They directed us to their public relations department, who we have not heard back from.

The Reserve wasn't opening until 9 p.m. on Tuesday.

If you were around Caroline Street outside of The Reserve nightclub on Friday night into the early morning hours on Saturday morning, email Karen Tararache at ktararache@wnyt.com.

Saratoga County Sheriff Michael Zurlo released the following statement:

"Four deputies involved in an incident on Caroline Street last weekend have been suspended without pay. My department is conducting an investigation into these reports." "Whether in uniform or off-duty, we hold our deputies to the highest possible standards. These suspensions will have no impact on public safety or our ability to respond to the needs of county residents." Because this is an ongoing personnel matter, no further information is available at this time
