A sheriff's deputy in Saratoga County is accused of committing sexual offenses against two children under the age of 13.

The sheriff’s office says they received a complaint about 40-year-old Steven Willetts on Saturday. Willetts is accused of engaging in oral sexual conduct with a girl under the age of 11. He is also accused of engaging in two or more acts of sexual conduct, over the course of several months, with a girl under the age of 13.

Deputies say the alleged sexual contact that was reported ranged from several years ago to recently.

Willetts faces class B and D felony charges.

He was arraigned in Malta Town Court. He remains in the Saratoga County Jail without bail.

According to the sheriff’s office, the charges were not related to any official action, and did not occur at a time when Willetts was working. He was suspended from the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office without pay.

The investigation is ongoing.
