Saratoga Springs police chief retires

The chief of the Saratoga Springs Police Department walked out of the station for the last time Thursday.

Greg Veitch retired today after 24 years of wearing the uniform.

The Spa City native started as a patrol officer and made his way up the ranks until becoming chief in 2013.

The husband and father of five was greeted by about  3-dozen current and former officers and firefighters as he made his way out of the building.
