Saratoga Springs program gives summer meals to kids

A summer meal program for kids kicked off Thursday in Saratoga County. Captain Community Human Services is officially celebrating its 23rd season of feeding kids.

Free summer meals will be provided to kids at 19 locations throughout the county until September 1.

Captain CHS also has a mobile meals program that delivers meals to certain trailer parks.

The program is managed by the state Education Department with funding from the USDA. It's meant to fill the gap for kids who receive free and reduced lunch during the school year.
