Saratoga Springs police chief sworn in

Saratoga Springs has a new chief of police. 

Shane Crooks has been serving the department for over 15 years. He was sworn in Tuesday night as the city's 21st chief. 


Crooks promised to serve with honor, integrity and respect. He said he expects his officers to do the same. 

The 43-year-old is married with two children. He began his career as a corrections officers with the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office.
