Sawyer Cresap crowned as Albany Tulip Queen 2018

Despite the rain, many attended the annual Tulip Fest not only to smell the flowers, but to experience the crowning of the Tulip Queen. 

Mayor Kathy Sheehan and Ashley Loggins, the 2017 Tulip Queen, welcomed the contenders and wished them luck.

23-year-old Sawyer Cresap was awarded the 2018 Tulip Queen. 

Sawyer is a Syracuse University graduate completing her Bachelors Degree in Environmental Policy with honors. 

She has helped the community by assisting the Ronald McDonald House, volunteering as an art instructor, and serving in the AmeriCorps. 

The Albany Tulip Fest will continue until Mother's Day tomorrow.
