Schenectady, Great Barrington residents warned about car thefts

Police in two separate areas are warning their residents - lock your car doors.

Police in Schenectady say there has been a noticeable rise in thefts from parked cars over the last few nights.

They say most of it has happened around the north side of the city, but they're asking everyone to keep an eye out.

Lock your doors, and make sure anything of value is out of sight.

In Great Barrington, police tell NewsChannel 13 they've also seen a number of incidents in which unlocked cars have been entered and rummaged through.

All of the calls came from the North Plain Road - Division Street Area.

Luckily, nothing has been stolen yet.

If you notice someone got into your car, give police a call - and be sure to keep those doors locked.
