Schenectady will provide free meals for Independence Day celebration

SCHENECTADY- More than 500 free meals will be served on Wednesday as part of the Independence Day celebration at the Schenectady City Mission.    

The free community picnic is open to anyone. They’ll be grilling hot dogs and hamburgers and have a bunch of sides and watermelon.

The picnic starts at 4 p.m. at 425 Hamilton Street.
