Many unanswered questions surround crash

There are still many unanswered questions about what caused the deadly crash in Schoharie.

We don't know if the passengers were wearing seatbelts. We don't know the condition of the 2001 limo or if it was modified.

Previously, there have been questions about the safety of stretch limos.

Deadly limo crashes are relatively rare. There were two deadly ones in 2016. That's down from 2015 when there were seven.

However, experts say regulations are not consistent.

This year in California, a limo retro-fit law went into effect that required more emergency exits.

However, experts say while federal standards require airbags to protect passengers in regular cars, stretch limos don't have that requirement.
