One woman is dead after being hit by a car in Scotia

The Scotia Police Department is investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian Wednesday evening.

They say a car struck and killed a woman in front of the Xtra Mart gas station on Mohawk Avenue around 6:40 PM.

The woman was treated at the scene and transported to Ellis Hospital where she later died.

The New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is assisting with the investigation.
