Niskayuna family dealing with second major water main break

NISKAYUNA - The town of Niskayuna is stepping in to help a family after two water main breaks in less than a week.

The family - with a new baby, had to deal with a major water main break that flooded their front yard and part of their home last week.

Over the weekend, the same pipe burst again.

The cost of fixing all the damage and replacing their belongings continues to go up.

The family tells NewsChannel 13 their corner lot is outside the flood plain, which is why they don't have flood insurance and are relying on the town for help.

The father, Scott Surrette says he felt reassured after he got a note from the town supervisor.
