SCHENECTADY - Donating to families in need ahead of back to school.

Price Rite and Feed the Children - along with several volunteers - unloaded a semi-truck filled with food and essentials for 400 local families in Schenectady on Thursday morning.

Two backpacks filled with school supplies were also given out to each family.

Price Rite says their goal is to fight childhood hunger while promoting healthy child development.

The families were pre-identified based on need by Schenectady Community Ministries.

Several local officials were on hand to help with the donations.
