Severe storms knock out power to 11,000+ Capital Region customers

Severe storms rocked parts of the Capital Region on Thursday evening.

Right now, it appears Albany County was the hardest hit with reports of trees and power lines down.

As of around 7:15 p.m. Friday, National Grid's website listed more than 10,000 customers out in the county – including 7,000 in the city itself.

Rensselaer County also had another 1,000+ customers without power.

According to National Grid, some areas in the city of Albany may not get their power restored until Saturday afternoon.
