Albany police are investigating two homicides. Several other people are recovering after being shot.

The first homicide happened at 2:30 p.m. Friday at First and Quail streets.

Police say a 35-year-old man shot in the back. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Police believe he was not the intended target. Neighbors who live on Second Street were upset to hear about the violence. Many are upset because there was a shooting on Second Street last year, which was not far from the shooting that took place Friday.

Five other victims were shot in the torso, leg, buttocks, foot, and hand. They are now spread out at three area hospitals.
