PITTSFIELD, Mass. - A police chase ends with an arrest in Pittsfield.

Police were investigating shots fired at Daniels Avenue and Union Street early Tuesday morning when they tried to stop a Jeep.

Instead, police say the driver sped off, ran stop signs, crossed opposite lanes and went the wrong way down a one-way street.

He crashed through the iron fence of St. Joseph Church and into a tree.

Police say a 9mm. gun was found inside the Jeep.

The driver, 28-year-old Domingo Sobers, faces several charges. Police say he may have also been drinking.

Police haven’t said anything about injuries.
