The lawyer for a man charged in a deadly high-speed 2019 Northway crash wants some charges severed.

Skyler Crouse is accused of murder and manslaughter in the September 2019 death of Joseph Turcotte of Horicon.

Crouse led police on a chase at speeds of 111 miles per hour before he crashed his truck into Turcotte's truck, killing the boat builder.

NewsChannel 13 has obtained court documents showing the attorney for  Crouse is asking the judge to sever some less serious charges in the case, arguing that trying the resisting arrest, public lewdness and harassment charges would promote further disdain for Crouse in the community and the jury pool.

The resisting, lewdness and harassment charges allege Crouse masturbated in front of police and nurses at Glens Falls Hospital, and later that day spit on a NewsChannel 13 photographer as he was being led into his arraignment.
