Slingerlands couple accused of fraudulent car sales

A Slingerlands couple is under arrest, accused of selling cars through fraudulent means and faking the paperwork.

Under arrest are 50-year-old Timothy Shaffer and 49-year-old Kimberly Shaffer.

State police got reports that the couple falsely advertised a car for sale on the internet and sold it. Police say that car had an odometer that didn't work.

The couple is accused of completing DMV documents with false information and forging the previous owner's signature.

Kimberly Shaffer is in jail without bail. Timothy Shaffer was released after posting bond.
