A number of communities are switching up Halloween plans.

Amsterdam is celebrating early. The city's trick-or-treat on the Mohawk Valley Gateway Overlook has been moved to October 30. The event runs from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. More than 40 local businesses will be ready with treats.

Berkshire County says it plans on cleaning up the neighborhoods from possible damage due to high winds and flooding on Friday. So the cities of Pittsfield, North Adams and the Town of Dalton are postponing trick or treat until Saturday, November 2.

Trick or treating will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
