ALBANY - The Special Olympics New York Summer Games kick off in Dutchess County, but not before the torch run made its way through Albany.

More than 200 law enforcement officers took part in the final leg of the run on Thursday.

Nearly 60 torch runs have taken place across the state over the last two months leading up to the games.

Special Olympics New York is the largest state chapter in the country - serving more than 67,000 athletes across the state.
