Speed ruled out as cause of Amtrak train trouble

Amtrak says they are still investigating Wednesday's scary scene on a passenger train, but have ruled out speed.

The train, heading to New York, suddenly separated shortly after leaving the Rensselaer station.

NewsChannel 13 reached out to Amtrak. They say the cars involved are getting a full inspection at a maintenance facility in Albany. They say they have reviewed a data recorder, which shows the conductor was not speeding at the time.

No one was hurt.
