Man arrested in connection with State Street bank robbery

Albany police have now arrested a man in connection with Monday’s bank robbery on State Street.     

Thirty-year-old William Panten is charged with robbery and grand larceny.

Police say Panten hit the Capital Bank on State Street in the middle of the afternoon, getting away with an unknown amount of money.

Paten is also accused of robbing a Pioneer Bank in Watervliet on Tuesday.     

He’s now being held in the Albany County Jail.
