Police: Woman was drunk nearly 6x over with burned infant

GLOVERSVILLE - A 4-month-old child is found with second and third-degree burns to its head in Gloversville. With the infant, a woman so drunk police say it could have been deadly.

Police were called to Freemont Street January 4 by a neighbor who heard a loud noise. After 20 minutes of knocking, they say they found Stephanie Wilson inside with a crying infant.

Police say Wilson’s blood alcohol level was .477 percent. The limit for being legally drunk is .08 percent.

Police aren’t sure where the child’s injuries came from.

The district attorney's office won't say what the relationship is between Wilson and the baby.

Both were treated at Nathan Littauer Hospital.
