Schenectady man accused of trying to meet 12-year-old girl for sex

A 29-year-old Schenectady man is under arrest, accused of trying to meet a 12-year-old girl for sex.

Stephen Walling was arrested after a three-month investigation.


Police say he messaged an undercover investigator of the Colonie Police Department, thinking that he was talking to a 12-year-old girl.

Police say there were internet and text conversations of a sexual nature, and his attempt to meet for sex.

Walling was arrested at the place where he thought was meeting the girl.

Police say there was never any real 12-year-old girl involved in the investigation. However, because of the nature of the charges - if anyone believes they may a victim or has information, call Colonie police.
