CAROGA - The highway superintendent in the town of Caroga has been arrested and charged with insurance fraud and official misconduct.

Troopers say 63-year-old Steve Putman took damaged parts off a town truck, put them on another truck, then submitted a false claim to the town's insurance company to get the truck repaired.

The investigation started at the request of the Town of Caroga Board and town attorney.

Putnam is due back in court next month.
