November 12, 2017 06:36 PM

MECHANICVILLE – Students from 75 high schools across the Capital Region took part in a peace summit on Sunday.

The goal of the event was to try and get young men and women to understand that peace is a complex topic – whether it be bullying in school, or issues of international diplomacy.

More importantly, organizers hope to instill in the students that they are capable of making a difference.

“The most important element of peace making is just to start,” said Fred Daniels of Rotary District 7190.

Sunday’s event was put on by Rotary International, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping advance goodwill around the world.
