Teen receives life-saving award from Vermont State Police

A teenager from New York received an award Friday from the Vermont State Police.

Angela McDevitt notified law enforcement last year of a possible school shooting.

She had received messages from her friend, Jack Sawyer, in which he discussed the alleged plot.

Police arrested Sawyer the day after the school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

McDevitt was unable to receive her award in person because she's in her first week of college.
