BALLSTON SPA – Nikolai Mavashev and Joseph Broscko said very little in Saratoga County Court on Friday. Both pled not guilty in connection with the murder of 19-year-old David Feliciano.

They came to the courthouse in separate sheriff's cars, but police say they acted together. The 19-year-old Mavashev and the 17-year-old Broscko are both charged with the intentional murder of Feliciano. It happened August 7 at Feliciano's Mechanicville home. It's alleged they shot and killed him.

Mavashev is charged with 17 counts, including murder in the first degree because he's over 18.

Broscko is charged with 13 counts, including second degree murder.

Prosecutors aren't saying who did the shooting, and they aren't saying if it was a dispute over marijuana. But the District Attorney is troubled by the age of all three involved.

“To me this is a tragedy, all the way around,” said Saratoga County District Attorney Karen Heggen. “The lives that are forever affected by the alleged actions of these defendants will ripple and continue on in the community for years and years and years."

The District Attorney turned over to the defense statements that the men made to police. Both pleaded not guilty to all charges.

“I don’t think he or the other fellow have any idea at this time about the seriousness of what they face,” said Mavashev’s attorney, Cheryl Coleman. "I think it kind of came up on him today when he saw everybody."

Both Mavashev and Broscko were sent back to jail without bail. They're scheduled to return to court December 4.
