Albany County legislators will vote on Monday on whether to put term limits on their positions, as well as those of the county executive and comptroller.

The proposed legislation, would limit the elected leaders to 12 years in office.

That would apply to the county executive and the county comptroller.

Current out-going comptroller Mike Connors has held the position for nearly 24 years.

If passed, Local Law "T" would limit that to three, four year terms.

It would take effect at the beginning of next year.
