Protest shuts down Albany streets

ALBANY - A protest in downtown Albany caused traffic delays during the evening commute.

The protesters say they are part of the Poor People's campaign. They are demanding an overhaul of our voting laws, policies to address poverty and a cleaner environment.

Albany police watched as the protesters shut down Washington Avenue near Hawk and Dove.

The group dispersed after about an hour, but they vow to return to the state Capitol over the next several weeks.
