Former Bolton sewage treatment superintendent sentenced for submitting false data

The former superintendent of a sewage treatment plant in Bolton will spend three years on probation.

Thomas French was sentenced on Friday in Albany City Court.

He pleaded guilty in September to submitting false recordings of pH and phosphate levels to the town -- and to the state Department of Environmental Conservation. He also admitted to tampering with monitoring equipment.

He was apparently trying to show the treatment plant was complying with state regulations when it wasn't.
