Funerals held for mom and daughter killed in Corinth fire

Funeral services were held Saturday morning for the mother and daughter who lost their lives in a house fire earlier this week in Corinth.

38-year-old Tonya Slimmer and her 15-year-old daughter Briaunna were laid to rest at the First Methodist Church.

The two died from smoke inhalation at their home on Monday morning. Three of Tonya's other children were rescued from the fire.

Investigators say the fire was likely caused by careless smoking.
