Accident on Route 7 sends one driver to hospital

The driver of a pick-up truck was seriously hurt in a crash that shut down Troy-Schenectady Road on Wednesday morning.

The Verdoy fire chief says they had to extricate the man from his pick-up, which was pinned between a Pepsi truck and a utility pole. He was taken to Albany Medical Center.

The driver of the Pepsi truck had minor injuries.

The crash happened around 5 a.m. at the intersection with Vly Road.

Troy-Schenectady Road was shut in both directions. It was re-opened by 7 a.m.
