Trainer worries how immigration crackdown will affect staff visas

SARATOGA SPRINGS - A big question at the track involves staffing. The White House announced Thursday a nationwide immigration enforcement operation targeting people who are in the United States illegally. It's expected to begin this weekend.
A trainer says even the workers who are here legally with the proper visas are nervous when they hear about these crackdowns.
With so many immigrants filling jobs in the backstretch at Saratoga, the question is what, if any impact does this have on staffing.
Trainer Dale Romans tells NewsChannel 13 his barns will be fully staffed. He insures his workers have visas.
This year, like last, he obtained 50 visas, but that's just part of the process.
Romans is already worrying about next year - will he be able to obtain the necessary 50 visas?
He also says properly documented workers are often scared and leave when ICE agents show up, because they don't fully understand how the system works.
