MAYFIELD - A man from Northville is arrested, accused of assaulting a state trooper, all while children were in his car.

Police say they pulled over Jason Buyce for a traffic violation in Fulton County.

The trooper suspected Buyce was under the influence and asked him to perform sobriety tests. That's when troopers say Buyce shoved the trooper and tried to take off on foot.

The passenger in his car, Shelley Gallup, then tried to prevent his arrest.

Troopers say Buyce got away and ran back to his car, driving away while the trooper was trying to pull him out of the car.

The trooper was dragged for a short distance.

The three kids in the car were not hurt.
