Tropical Storm Isaias made its way through the Capital Region with damaging winds and drenching the area with inches of rain Tuesday.
The storm’s center was just 20 miles west of Albany around 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Downed trees and flooded roads could be seen throughout the Capital Region, including in Albany.
Several Albany police officers rescued children who were trapped in a vehicle that was in flooded waters underneath a bridge on Central Avenue. Guilderland police also responded to several flooded roads in the area.
As of Wednesday morning, thousands of people were without power in the Capital Region. The largest amount of outages are in Saratoga and Albany counties.
