Troy police give out scholarships for students pursuing law enforcement

Three Capital Region students are off to college this fall, with a special hand from police in Troy.     

The Troy Police Union handed out scholarships to the teens, who want to make a career in law enforcement.

Tyrone Jones graduated from Troy High and wants to be a state trooper, Ryan Meyer is looking forward to studying criminal justice, and Hannah Jacobs is planning on going into the U.S. Navy.

To earn the scholarships, the students needed to maintain above a B average all throughout high school, write an essay on why they deserve the scholarship, and complete an interview to back it up.
