ALBANY - If you were planning on attending Friday night's gala celebration at the Times Union Center, you're going to need to make some new plans.

The Times Union Center says they're canceling the show, which was set to feature James Taylor, John Legend, Jim Belushi and local teen sensation Moriah Formica.

They say issues with the promoter forced them to bag the event, which was supposed to be a celebration of the arena’s recent $19 million renovation.

“It's not rare for a show to cancel. It's rare for a show to cancel due to promoter default so from that standpoint we're disappointed that it came down the way it did," said Times Union Center general manager Bob Belber.

If you bought tickets for the show, you can get a refund at your original point of purchase. The arena says they'll be rescheduling another celebration later this year.
