The Sheriff’s Office said emergency crews were forced to use the Jaws of Life to extricate two occupants, a male and female, of one of the vehicles involved. The passenger of that vehicle was transported from the scene to Saratoga Hospital where he later died.

They said the operator of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs are a factor in the crash and it remains under investigation.
