Cohoes man charged in deadly Clifton Park crash

CLIFTON PARK - New York State Police charged 58-year-old Dickie Winn with aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular manslaughter, and DWI in the crash that killed two and injured three others. 

The incident happened at the intersection of State Route 9 and Ushers Rd. Police say Winn, of Cohoes, left his lane while driving and struck another vehicle that was stopped at a traffic light. Five people were inside. 


John Heneghan, 33, and Caitlyn Holtzman, 32, were identified as the people killed. 

Julia Staples, 24, Luke O'Doherty, 25, and Enda Crowley, 25, sustained serious but non life threatening injuries. They were taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment. 

Winn was arraigned in Clifton Park Town Court and remanded to Saratoga County Jail without bail. He is due back in Court May 29.
