Mystery surrounds disappearance of UFO monument in Berkshire County

June 07, 2019 06:55 PM

A popular UFO monument in Berkshire County has vanished - kind of.  The monument - which was erected in 2015, was hauled away this week - likely by the town.

It recognized a mysterious event back in September of 1969, when the Reed family claims they encountered alien activity on their farm.

Hundreds of other Berkshire residents backed their claims, and over the years, the legend has grown internationally, amongst believers.

Now, the 5,000 pound granite tribute is gone and residents don't know why.

Prior to removing the monument, large boulders were placed around it, making it more difficult to access.

NewsChannel 13 went to the town administrator's office to get answers. She was there, but one of her assistants told us she wasn't available to talk.
